All you music loving patriots out there, go to Blockbuster and rent their exclusive Dixie Chicks "Shut up & Sing". Seriously. If you're not a fan, you will be. And regardless, it's still worth watching for the a dose of just how fucking ignorant and intolerant our fellow citizens can be, including the reprehensible media. Some of the footage is absolutely nauseating.I only wish, after all their struggle and hard work, they would have waited 6 months to release the documentary. Finishing it up with a big "Fuck You" to country radio, and the country music scene in general, with their 5 grammys including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the year would have been a nice touch. Keep on keepin' on, Chicks. (Also... Thanks, MB. Good pick!)

Word to the R to the O to the B. To the OTC. To the A to the T. So when I say Robot, you say Cat. Robot! (Cat!) Robot! (Cat!) I don't care what anybody says. I could listen to that all day long.

I made the big transition to the new blogger just now.If you know me at all, you're right to assume that it was a big step for me. I fear change. Also, I can't imagine much that would pain me to lose more than nearly 7 years worth of really uneventful blogger posts. I mean... I could, through unthinkably horrible effort, replace my music collection or email contacts, etc. But you can't replace a diary, or scrapbook, like this one. So, here's assuming all went well, and maybe when I'm feeling especially ambitious I'll actually fix my permalinks in celebration. Because I know you all miss using them. You know, when you're linking to my witty banter. Right?

Also, I just got an email from someone named Spacesuit K. Bobtail. Enough said. We totally have one of these in our pantry. Anyone want to come over for dinner?

the Wit(80% dark, 26% spontaneous, 10% vulgar) your humor style: CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat. I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer. Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion. You probably loved the Office. PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Jon Stewart - Woody Allen - Ricky Gervais ![]() The test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
Take The 3-Variable Funny Test! *** No surprise there... Look at those 99 percents. I could be in the Mensa of Witty. Go me. And Ryan, who is also witty and brought this to my attention.
![]() Happy Valentine's Day to you all. I will be spending it putting together adorably sweet last minute gifts for girls who can get a date. It will totally not be painful. (suddenly contemplates the entertainment value of helping desperate men pick out really awful and inappropriate gifts for their valentines and the delightful awkwardness that ensues.) Actually Valentine's Day doesn't bother me all that much. I'm happy for most of you crazy kids and your lovey dovey significant others. It's the other 364 days a year that start to rub a little... Oh, come on. Making really pitiful single-on-valentines-day jokes is as obligatory for me as buying-some-red-and-pink-drug-store-crap and going-out-to-dinner-at-a-less-than-romantic-casual-dining-restaurant is for the rest of the population. I'm just doing my job. (I think the above valentine is from here but I saved it a month ago and didn't really adequately note it's natural habitat. My bad. MB, please note my weak attempt to give credit where credit is due.)

Things you should already know about me:I love Patrick Warburton. Literally every word that comes out of his mouth makes me laugh. EVERY. WORD. So it's no surprise the fairly mediocre pilot of Rules of Engagement had me rolling. I'll watch it again. Even if it only to hear Patrick speak...

Ooooh! It's everyone's favorite time of year! It's pre-order your ancient-forest-friendly copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows from amazon.ca time! There are a couple reasons you should do this. 1) Raincoast Books (the canadian publisher) prints over 90% of their books (including the HPs) on ancient-forest friendly paper., Most of the time this means 100% post-consumer recycled paper. 2) They use the original british text so you get the FULL HP experience. The books are so much more fun to read when you're soaking up the english slang! If you're concerned about your collection not matching... BUY THEM ALL FROM RAINCOAST!!!! It's the socially responsible thing to do!

You know what's the WORST?Finding a little stash of cutesy wootsey quotes, or notes, or txts, or emails, or letters, or whatever from a painfully sweet, and painfully over rendezvous. Sweet little words that made your heart just melt... so you stuck them away for a rainy day, so you could always look back on how it all began, how it all unfolded. And then later, when all is said and done, you find this little treasure trove. And the words still melt your heart, and surely there are tears. Maybe because that time has passed or maybe because it's just too powerful to all at once remember what it feels like to have those wonderful things said to you in the first place. And your heart aches a little. With sadness and happiness. Because those words don't make you just want to give up on love all together... they're the reason you keep trying at all. So maybe... it's the best.
