Yeah, Hitchhiker! You better believe I am sporting my own "thumb" (in the form of a sweet ring - good idea, guys!). JT wouldn't let me take my towel into the theater though. *sigh* Anyway, I really quite enjoyed the movie and didn't really mind the liberties taken with the screenplay. It was a tiny bit lovey-dovier than the book, but who am I to complain? I was geeked to see a preview for the unimaginably spectacular looking Corpse Bride, ala my future husband, Tim. Also, regardless of what the bwil thinks, the Chicken Little preview was AWESOME!

This is a must-see for Napoleon Dynamite fans and critics alike and in the illustrious words of Brian of Iowa, "Holy crap. Holy-effing-crap."

"Many times the best way to fight is not to fight at all."Don't take my apparent silence for denial. or cowardace. Let's face it. It doesn't matter to you what I say anyway, does it? If I'm MIA for a day or too, forgive me. Cleaning house, taking inventory, removing cobwebs, and taking out the trash. Nobody's Hero.

More hoorays! Some of you probably know that our local Lion, famous in the zoo zommunity for being the longerst lived after being diagnosed with a common cancer in lions, passed away this week. That's not a hooray... except for that means we might get a breeder for his sister. What is a hooray is that the tiger cubs are finally healthy enough to have a formal introduction! Hooray! And I had heard wrong. We only lost one so their are 3 bundles of stripey love waiting for you to peak at them in the window of the zoo's vet clinic. Hooray! Tidbits: Hooray for truly girlie (and unbiased) girl-talk! It's nice to know that everyone gets themselves into situations that are as screwed up as the one in which I find myself. Hooray for making a concerted effort to get my act together. I have been in an alternate dimension for several days and my "reality" has suffered for it. From Yahoo! horoscopes: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday see you slowing back down and getting grounded. (Which is good, because needless haste could cause you to overlook important details right now.) Hooray for people who understand me... even if they are complete strangers who have really random jobs like making up BS for Yahoo! horoscopes. I'll pretend that this makes me feel better: Love is complicated. Today, you're not. You know what you want. You know who you want. You know why. Don't be impatient if things aren't as clear to them. Hooray for random lyrics! Maybe I'm A Girl And Maybe I'm A Lonely Girl Who's In The Middle Of Something That She Doesn't Really Understand Maybe I'm A Girl And Maybe You're The Only Man Who Could Ever Help Me Baby Won't You Help Me Understand -Jem, Maybe I'm Amazed (I'll credit her if only because I most appreciate her girlie version of the song.) Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile. The precious moments are all lost in the tide, yea. They're swept away and nothing is what is seems, the feeling of belonging to your dreams. -Roxette, Listen To Your Heart You made your choice, now it's up to me To bow out gracefully Though you hold the key, but baby There's always a chance A tiny spark remains, yeah And sparks turn into flames And love can burn once again, but I know you know Whenever you call me, I'll be there Whenever you want me, I'll be there Whenever you need me, I'll be there I'll be around...yeah -The Spinners, I'll Be Around (Selected Lyrics) Hooray for getting called to set up a job interview. It's not for the great-paying, benefit-offering job I hope to one day have... but it's a job. Hooray for people who consistently offer a listening ear, even though they, least of anyone, probably really want to hear what's plaguing me. And Hooray for best friends who dutifully listen whether they want to or not. Hooray for another day of more smiles than tears. It's not that there weren't tears... I guess there were just lots of smiles. And really... that's all I can ask for.

Who is posting from her balcony while sipping a delicious margarita and enjoying this most glorious of spring days? Me. That's who. Hooray! Hoo-frickin-ray. That's just all I have to say. Me, my laptop, my frsoty beverage... if only one "Mr. Vegas" were here... I'd have my 3 best friends side by side. Now I'm going to sit here and listen to birds and look up at the moon who is looking down on me.

And I'm back in the game!Turns out, here's the thing. I can't post when I actually have something to say. That's my brilliant explaination for being a horrendous slacker the last few weeks. I've had a lot to say here, but more importantly I've had something that I needed to get of my chest in a more personal forum. So, thanks to the power of the mighty quarter flip... I took advantage of a feeble surge of courage and said what needed to be said. I feel a lot better now. I hope I'm not the only one. What does this mean for you, the loyal reader? It means that I might have something useful to say, though most of the time I swear I never had anything useful to say in the first place. For now, another batch of lyrics... because sometimes I just can't NOT post lyrics. And this was on the OC tonight. And I want it. and I bet my best friend has it. And I bet if he really loves me and I ask real nice he'll make me a copy of his self-compiled DD sountrack. I got no time for private consultation, Under the milky way tonight. Wish I knew what you were looking for. Might have known what you would find. Wish I knew what you were looking for. Might have known what you would find. And it’s something quite peculiar, Something that’s shimmering and white. Leads you here despite your destination, Under the milky way tonight -Church, Under the Milky Way Tonight Hurts so good... Thank god for the physical pain which has almost rendered me completely incapable of accomplishing anything today. Don't we all sometimes need a reminder that things are going to be ok... and they could sure as heck be a lot worse? Hurts so bad... Thank you to those of you who believe in me and support me, no matter how much of a dumbass you think I'm being. Thanks somewhat less to those of you who then apparently turn around and talk a little smack about me when I'm not around. You're my favorite. "The pleasure of love is in loving." -Francois de La Rochefoucauld If that's true, I have everything I need.

It’s hard to know what’s real when it all seems wrong But I promise you I’ll find what’s going on I just need to follow the sun before I’ll know if I’ll see this another way The simple truth is I’m falling, falling down And I don’t want to drag you through the bottom And then you say “Sit in front of me, turn around you’ll see I’m everything you’d want, all you’d ever need Come back into my world, you know I’m still your girl” And she makes so much sense when she says “Don’t throw this away” - Ben Jelen, Falling Down Here's to strength. and guts. and knowing that people love you no matter what.

So, I have, again, a week's worth of updates (noting that I never finished with the pile of notes from a month ago when I got behind). However, rather than get into all that at the moment (as it's been a complicated week and I know how you all deplore ambiguity), I will instead list all of the movies I just returned to Blockbuster as well as the new batch of movies I just picked up. Just returned: Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone Lost Highway The Forgotten Just picked up: Closer Road Warrior Mad Max Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow & the 1981 BBC version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy *sigh* Someday someone will properly understand me. Until then I will be consuming Frozen Heaven... also known as my special top secret recipe Florida Margaritas. Yummmmmmm.

60 second update, live from the St. Louis Science Center:Friday night's big date went very nicely despite being April Fool's Day. We successfully arrived in St. Louis and found a place to watch the game. Much grieving alcohol intake ensued. Some other stuff happened. Science is awesome. Audio-Animatronic Dinosaurs are NOT awesome. Off to Indianapolis for the Women's Final Four. Back late Tuesday night.
